Manhattan S4-R 500GB Freesat 4K TV Recorder
The Manhattan S4-R 500GB is a Freesat 4K TV recorder designed to provide installers with a straightforward solution for satellite TV, recording and on-demand services in a single unit.
The S4-R connects to an existing satellite installation and can be connected to the network via built-in Wi-Fi or Ethernet, providing access to over 100 Freesat channels, including more than 35 in HD, alongside popular catch-up and streaming services such as BBC iPlayer, ITVX, Channel 4, 5 and YouTube.
The integrated 500GB hard drive provides up to 300 hours of recording capacity, making this model well suited to installations where a practical amount of recording storage is required without the additional capacity of the larger 1TB and 2TB versions. Recording capacity varies depending on the type of content, with up to 300 hours of standard-definition or approximately 150 hours of HD recordings.
The recorder supports simultaneous recording of up to four programmes when used with a compatible satellite installation, such as a wideband LNB configuration, or up to two programmes with older satellite setups. Live TV can also be paused and rewound, with up to two hours of live TV buffer available.
For installation and everyday operation, the S4-R features a 15-day electronic programme guide, Series Link recording, programme search and automatic setup. It also supports 4K upscaling for compatible displays and Dolby Digital Plus audio.
The compact design, HDMI output, optical digital audio connection, Ethernet and built-in Wi-Fi make the S4-R 500GB a practical choice for residential AV installations where satellite reception, recording and streaming services need to be combined in one receiver.
