Offering a combination of Layer 2 and Lite Layer 3 management features, the 420 Series gives installers greater flexibility when designing and configuring networks to suit the requirements of each project. With a mix of Gigabit and 2.5Gbps ports, it provides entry-level multi-gig capability for applications where standard 1Gbps connectivity isn't enough.
The 24 PoE+ ports provide a total power budget of up to 410W, with up to 30W available per port, making the switch suitable for larger installations with multiple powered network devices. Four 10G SFP+ uplinks also provide high-speed options for expanding the network or connecting to other network infrastructure.
Front-facing RJ45 ports provide easy access during installation and servicing, while the redesigned cooling fans improve airflow and reduce operating noise, including when the switch is under heavier loads.
As with other Araknis switches, the 420 Series includes a familiar user interface and built-in OvrC® support. This allows installers to configure, monitor and troubleshoot networks remotely, helping to reduce the need for unnecessary site visits.
