Tool-Less Installation
The Director Collection features a tool-less mounting system designed to provide a secure and straightforward installation across a range of ceiling types. The spring-loaded clips use multiple contact points to distribute the speaker’s weight more evenly than traditional dog-leg mounting systems, helping protect the ceiling while reducing unwanted vibration transfer.
More Bass. Less Space
An 8-inch loudspeaker naturally delivers greater low-frequency performance than a 6-inch model, but many larger speakers require significantly larger cut-outs. The Director 80 Series is designed to overcome this limitation by offering the performance benefits of an 8-inch driver while maintaining a similar installation footprint to many 6-inch alternatives. This allows installers to achieve deeper bass response without requiring additional ceiling space.
Compression Moulded Woofer Baskets
Using a proven compression-moulding process, the woofer baskets are engineered to provide excellent structural stability while remaining acoustically neutral. This design helps reduce distortion and prevents unwanted colouration from the basket itself, contributing to cleaner sound reproduction.
X-Wave Woofer Surround
The X-Wave woofer surround is designed to improve cone control during demanding playback levels. When a speaker cone reaches the limit of its movement, unwanted energy can create reflections across the cone surface. The X-Wave design helps absorb this energy progressively, reducing distortion and improving overall loudspeaker accuracy.
Magnetic Grille
A discreet, paintable perforated grille with a slim micro bezel provides a clean and unobtrusive finish once installed. The magnetic fixing system allows the grille to be removed and replaced quickly, making installation, maintenance and customisation simple.
