The LTU-LR long range client radio from Ubiquiti is a 5 GHz subscriber station designed for long-range applications that functions as the Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) device in a Point-to-MultiPoint (PtMP) installation using the LTU Rocket as the basestation.
Proprietary LTU Technology
The LTU-LR, based on Ubiquiti's LTU technology, is not impeded by the limitations of the well established 802.11 WiFi technology. It's custom LTU silicon and radio architecture is able to provide up to 600+ Mbps of TCP/IP throughput (1 Gbps+ capable in future firmware upgrades) and modulation rates up to 4096QAM (available in future firmware updates).
AS the RF energy is directed in a tighter beamwidth with the focus in one direction, the LTU-LR is able to improve noise immunity by blocking or spatially filtering out noise which is particularly important in areas crowded with other RF signals of the same or similar frequencies. Together with the ability to use different frequencies for TX and RX to avoid interference and support for both bridged and built-in hardware NAT router modes, this radio is a great option to use for a variety of different installs.
Innovative Design
Ubiquiti's Innerfeed design technology integrates the radio into the feedhorn of the antenna itself, removing the need for a cable and improving performance from eliminating cable losses associated with this. A large reflector and easy elevation adjustment mount also allows the installer to quickly adjust the azimuth by rotating and tilting the unit whilst on the pole.
