The Origin Acoustics D55 is a premium 5" in-ceiling speaker from the Director Collection, designed for installers who want superior sound quality in smaller rooms without increasing the ceiling footprint.
Featuring a woven glass fibre woofer, DPSD™ silk dome tweeter and fully pivoting driver assembly, the D55 delivers excellent vocal clarity, smooth high frequencies and controlled bass response. It is ideal for bedrooms, kitchens, studies, en-suites and other areas where space is limited but performance remains important.

DPSD™ Tweeter
Origin's patented Dual Plane Stabilised Diaphragm tweeter provides greater output and wider dispersion than conventional silk dome tweeters. This improves coverage throughout the room and creates a more consistent listening experience.
X-Wave™ Woofer Surround
The X-Wave surround reduces unwanted cone reflections and distortion, improving midrange detail and overall clarity while maintaining accurate bass reproduction.
Tool-less Installation
The Director Series mounting system allows installers to secure the speaker quickly without traditional dog-leg clamps. The result is faster installation, improved vibration control and reduced risk of ceiling damage.
Upgrade Flexibility
All Director 50 Series speakers utilise the same mounting ring and cut-out dimensions. This allows installers to upgrade or downgrade within the range without altering the ceiling opening, making future system upgrades simple and cost-effective.
